Learning to play

Not what you are used to? You bet! Will you sit down and be immediately awesome? Nope. Hard to learn? No way!

My instructional DVD will guide you step-by-step through the learning process. You will progress at your own pace, and learn to do things unimaginable on a conventional drum pedal. Lots of tips, exercises and recommended practice songs for you to try.

Here is the basic outline...
  • Get use to...
    • immediate downstroke response
    • very light triggering force (you will tap with your toes... pounding not required)
    • staying away from the upstroke pedal (NO accidental triggering!)
  • Simple "second beat" upstrokes
  • Multiple "second beat" upstrokes
  • More complex patterns
  • Steady controlled 16th notes (constant)
  • 16th notes (intermittent and as fill)
  • Start using your imagination! Why not play congas with your feet? Snare drum anyone?
  • Some would call it a one-foot drum roll.... actually very fast triplets.

By the way, you need to feel the top and bottom pedals as you play (both are fairly sensitive). So I have designed this pedal to be played SHOES OFF.
